I am a thirty-something guy who loves to program computer applications such as websites and desktop software as well as databases. I have a job in Information Technology (IT) by day. I work on large systems composed of many computers that serve a vast amount of users. My real name is not actually Dedric Mauriac.
This world by Linden Research, Inc.® is in 3-D and is completely made up of things created by its residents. There is an economy here where you can earn Lindens (the currency of Second Life) and sell them for real money. Many companies in real life (RL) are comming into this world with innovative strategies.
Much of my time in Second Life is spent creating Buildings, Clothing, Gadgets, and more. Most of my creations center IT in a virtual world, such as tracking who clicks on an object, or who has come by to visit your office.
